On May 14, 2023, the long-awaited final tournament of the spring training in karate took place. After intense weeks of training and preparation, the excitement among the participants was palpable. The training provided us with a unique opportunity to improve our skills and develop within a supportive community.

The spring training was an intense time of learning and physical challenges. Under the guidance of experienced karate instructors, we were able to refine our techniques. Each day of training was filled with sweat, concentration and mutual support.

The final tournament was a success all along the line. Not only did we achieve our personal goals, but we also impressed as a group. Each of us could be proud of what we had achieved. It was a reward for all the hard work and dedication we put into the spring training.

On May 6, 2023 an exciting karate tournament took place – the Cologne Open. Our karateka group was ready for the great challenge of competing with other talented fighters from different styles. The tournament promised not only exciting fights, but also the opportunity to develop our skills and compete with the best of the best.

The feeling of excitement and nervousness was in the air as we entered the impressive hall with a total of 6 fighting areas. The atmosphere was full of energy as the participants from the Benelux countries. It was a unique opportunity to learn and observe the different techniques and approaches of other karatekas.

We were especially proud of Frederik Schmertz, who was able to hold his own in the category Kumite male up to 67 kg and won the 3rd place.

Not only Frederik, but also the rest of our team could prove their skills at the Cologne Open in Karate. We are proud of each individual who courageously faced the challenges of the tournament. Every fight was a valuable lesson and an opportunity to grow.

In February, the first training of 2023 took place. Together, the members trained the clubs of the Aachen region together and finally competed in the tournament of the winter training.

In addition to placements in the form competition and fighting, the following new belts could be achieved:

• 1st yellow belt: Melike, Luca & Nicole
• 2nd yellow belt: Mara
• 1st orange belt: Niklas
• 2nd orange belt: Radelle

We say goodbye to the Christmas holidays on Thursday, 15.12.2022 with our last training session. The first training in the new year will take place on Tuesday, 10.01.2023. Please note that our training times will change minimally in 2023:

• Tuesdays, 19:00 – 20:30
• Thursdays: 19:00 – 20:30

On the weekend of 3rd and 4th December this year’s fall introductory training took place. Together, the newest members of our clubs in the Aachen region trained together and learned the basics of Modern Sport Karate.

At the end of this weekend, the following belt examinations were passed in the Alsdorf club:

• Second white belt: Melike, Luca, Nicole & Frieda
• First yellow belt: Mara, Eva & Amelie

Over the past two weekends, our participants took part in this year’s summer training and achieved great placements at the final tournament.
